France is represented in the international men's competitions by the France national rugby union team. Nicknamed as Les Bleus, Les Tricolores or Le XV de France; they are a major Rugby power and are ranked eight in World Rugby rankings. France has exceptional record in Six Nations Championship, winning outright sixteen times, sharing it eight times and attaining nine Grand Slams. France has appeared in all editions of the rugby world cup and has qualified thrice for the final and once for the semi final. French coach Fabien Galthel believes that his players are preparing well for the RWC 2023 and will put outstanding effort. France rugby team captain Charles Ollivon is sure that French squad's performance in Rugby World Cup 2023 will be top notch and will improve their international standing. The team's home matches are mostly played at the Stade de France in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis. France is ranked 3th currently in the World Rugby Rankings. France has competed in every Rugby World Cup since it began in 1987, and qualified for the knock-out stage each time. They have reached the final three times, losing to the All Blacks in 1987 and 2011, and to Australia in 1999. France hosted the 2007 Rugby World Cup, where, as in 2003, they were beaten in the semi-finals by England, and will once again host the tournament in 2023.
